ODD009: The Manhattan Love Suicides "Dandelion Radio Session - Pre Order - due March 2010" CD album - £5.00
PRE-Order - due March 2010
The Manhattan Love Suicides blazed a trail with their feedback drenched pop. They came to an end in July 2009. Just a few months before they were tearing up venues with their shock and awe live performances. And in the middle of these shows they stopped in at Dandelion Radio to record a session for DJ Rocker. These were to be their last ever recordings as a band.

NET004: Godsmania "Higher Lower B/w Now It's Coming On" Download
This will be available to download from 18th January 2010. And not before.
Godsmania have a previous release on Spanner Records and they make what can only be described as vintage 80’s inspired jangle pop and these new songs are perfect examples of fuzzed up, yet understated, guitar pop – maybe hinting at influences beyond their jangle pop roots and I can hear echoes of Yo La Tengo at their fuzzy pop best in these two songs.

LMR004: The Morning Paper / Moscow Olympics "Almost Real / The Farthest City" 7 inch - £4.00
Pete Green has recently put together a full band to explode the myth that he’s just a singer/songwriter. When I say, just, I don’t mean just. As Pete is a rare breed of singer songwriters - as when you listen to him - it doesn’t make you want to hurl bricks at him as he sings. We’re delighted that he had released the third 7″ single on Lostmusic.

SXP00: Looking Glas "Fish Fowl Flood" CD album - £6.00
Not an Odd Box release this one - but a great record none-the-less and we're stocking a few copies for Sounds eXPperience Records
‘Fish / fowl / flood’ is the début release by Looking Glass, the name used by 23 year old Jim Wallis, also of London-based indie-rockers My Sad Captains. At the heart of this 8 song set are melodic, affecting songs fusing traditional, americana-tinged instrumentation with atmospheric samples and field recordings. The collection is released on Sounds eXPerience having previously had a very limited cassette-only release on an Italian label. Recorded at home in London and Lincoln, the album has a lo-fi charm and intimacy, perfect for whiling away the evenings sheltering from the elements.
