Loop

Loop have announced that they have reformed. I saw this band a fair few times in the late 80s and the early 90s. They were a force of nature. I shall have to see what Loop 2013 have to offer.

Standard Fare

Last Saturday was the final Standard Fare show. They played the 100 Club in London as part of Popfest. They were amazing. I was too busy being happy to be sad it was over. A few days later and I’m now a little sad.

The Wolfhounds

Cheer Up. Fucking Cheer up. The return of the Wolfhounds. On Odd Box. Ace Video.

See See Rider

This came out in 1990. See See Rider released two 12″ singles. Both of them stunning. Then they were gone. They did record a cracking album. Long available in bootleg or download form but never officially released. I believe this video was shot by Douglas Hart of The Jesus and Mary Chain.

Benjamin Shaw (II)

Another post to highlight a new video from Benjamin Shaw. From a new album that’s going to be released on new label Glass Reservoir. This sees Benjamin in full on experimental electronic mode. Very different to his recordings that I was already familiar with. And wonderful it is too.

American Analog Set

American Analog Set. A band I was lucky to see on a few occasions. Probably 10 or more years ago. Their last studio album came out in 2006. Whether they’ll ever record again is unknown to me. But their metronomic minimal songs are still utterly wonderful to these ears.
