Birmingham Calling
Just a quick update to give you the news on some future Odd Box releases.
We have two fab CD releases lined up. Both coming out of the city of Birmingham, England.
ODD0012 is an excellent new LP (at the price of an EP) from Ace Bushy Striptease and ODD0013 is a new EP by the wonderful Falling and Laughing. The EP is going to be called Bunny Hood. These should both see the light of day in late April/May. Once they are a little closer to completion – a song or two will appear on our My Space page and the pre-orders will be added to the shop.
And if that wasn’t enough Falling and Laughing will also be the next band to be released for free on the ODD NET imprint – the two song download only release ‘Lights Out Birmingham / Compilations of Sweden’. NET005 should be online in the next few weeks.
Here’s a little more information on both bands:

Ace Bushy Striptease
Ace Bushy Striptease got together in October 2007 in the Birmingham as a welcome distraction from real life troubles and misunderstandings.
We try really hard to make music that is good. Too eager to please, too awkward to do things properly.
They recently said this about their up coming release:
We have finished recording our third album. We finished last week. Just mixing and sorting the art now and so yeah hopefully that’ll be out on Odd Box Records maybe in April? It is twelve songs and about 22 minute long. We have a title for it but I’m sure we’ll tell you about that in due course.
Falling and Laughing are two piece indiepop band from Birmingham, UK.
Well, I say indiepop, but I also kind of think that every band should have it’s own completely made up genre though just to show what a pointless exercise the whole slicing of music into little bits is. Plus it’s fun coming up with daft genre names – come up with one for your band (or if you’re not in a band, form one, come up with a daft genre name and start plotting what instrument you’ll play in them)!
So let’s try that again.
Falling and Laughing are a two piece chordgazing band from Birmingham, UK.
